Software Update: Spring / Q2 2026

Welcome back to the quarterly update! This time around the focus was on adding some highly requested, but not-all-that-trivial watch faces and features to the Ollee Watch app. This watch is really starting to feel a lot more complete compared to when it was launched almost a year ago. Please read through the article and check out the highlight video to see what’s new!

Before we proceed - I must admit, the ocean Tide watch face was extremely difficult to implement. It’s probably the most sophisticated widget in the whole platform. One philosophy I’m trying to stick to is to make the Ollee Watch as “standalone” as possible - so it doesn’t have to rely on syncing to the phone regularly to get the most out of the (now) many watch faces. So the method to implement the tides feature was to use lunitidal intervals (LTI) - something other watches use, typically with some sort of look-up table in the manual. This is all implemented automatically in the Ollee Watch app. Based on your location it will compute the LTI after pinging the closest available tide station, and then push that reference to the watch. Once the LTI is in the watch, all of the tide events are computed locally! Lunitidal intervals are not the most accurate approach, but they’re a pretty good approximation to get the high/low tide times over the course of the day. Anyway, let’s get out of this rabbit hole and move on.

Download the Update

Download the updated version of the Ollee Watch app from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android), Version 1.0.6 is the new release. The update will be live the week of July 6 - some regions may get it before others, so please allow a few days for it to distribute globally. Note this update is compatible with all Ollee Watch hardware!

Firmware Upgrade

This update requires a firmware upgrade to the Ollee Watch. Please see the video below before you do the upgrade.

Some iPhone users on iOS 26 have reported issues with the update process. It’s very rare, but can be a real thorn. Please read the section in the Troubleshooting Guide if you run into problems!

Feature Highlights

Check out this little highlight video to see some of the new features in action!

New Features

Version 1.0.6 has over 15 features and fixes added to the platform. Remember that you can also check out the User Manual in the Ollee Watch app to get a detailed description of the features and watch faces. The breakdown of each new addition is provided below:

  • Daily Alarm

    • New watch face with 5 daily alarm slots

    • Each slot can be set to on, off or one-shot mode

    • The original Alarm watch face is independent and has more advanced features

  • Timer

    • Fast mode “F” when timer is set to 00:00:00

    • Start the timer and quickly add a minute with the press of a button

  • Weather

    • Daily weather forecast is now available with the Weather watch face

    • 5 days of weather data is stored on the watch (3 days can be viewed at a time)

    • Daily high, low, and feels-like temperatures, as well as conditions, precipitation, humidity and UV index are displayed

  • Sun, Moon & Tide

    • The sunrise/sunset watch face has been expanded with moon and tide data!

    • Moonrise and moonset times as well as the moon phase for the present day

    • Tide information (if you’re near a coast) that shows current tide direction, and the upcoming four high/low tide times

  • Databank

    • New watch face with 10 databank entries

    • Entries can be tagged (ie. phone, list, note, password)

    • 20 characters can be stored per entry

    • You can paste a body of text into the app to be stored in the databank

  • Background Services (Android only)

    • The app will attempt to sync with the Ollee Watch every hour. Note you need to have Bluetooth always on enabled in Settings > Device for this to work

    • Background services will sync activity data, time, and update the weather

    • Doesn’t work on iPhone / iOS - But you can try using Shortcuts and Automations to open the Ollee Watch app daily to sync (see -
How to Trigger a Time of Day Automation).

  • Multiple Favorites

    • You can now select more than 1 favorite watch face

    • Favorite faces are accessed the same way as before (hold the LIGHT button on the Clock face), and you can cycle through them with the MODE button.

  • Manage Ollee Watches

    • New screen available in Settings > Manage Ollee Watches

    • Pair multiple Ollee Watches to the app, manage their names

    • Only one watch can be connected to at a time, all activity data is added to the same daily database

    • Save profiles that include all of the currently selected watch settings

    • Load profiles to your watch. This is super useful for transferring settings between watches or after a battery replacement.

  • New Configuration Settings

    • These can be accessed in the app Settings > Device

    • Backlight disco mode - The backlight will be a random RGB color every time the light turns on

    • Screen saver - Display the name tag on the screen as a screen saver. A press of a button or the tilt gesture will exit the screen saver.

    • Nightly deep sleep - Replaced the motion deep sleep feature. Set a time of day for the watch to go into deep sleep (lowest power). In this mode the motion sensor is disabled and the screen is off until the watch is waken up with a button press. This does not affect any features running in the background like timers or alarms.

  • Some general tweaks in the watch and app UI, and bug fixes.

What’s next?

With summertime here in Canada, development will slow down a little bit, but there are three big feature sets we’re evaluating and trying to add to the platform before the end of the year. These include improving the accuracy of the step counter, notifications, and 3rd party apps. Stay tuned for those exciting developments and I hope everyone enjoys their summer!
